Get your work out there

I read a book recently called Show Your Work by Austin Kleon and it was a great inspiration. As most creative people know they live in fear of putting their work into a public space and having it critiqued. The fragile ego of an artist is some times his or her own worst enemy.  I had been sitting on a huge collection of my own photos taken over a 20 year period and it was gathering dust.  It also stopped the flow of creating new work, like some giant psychological constipation. Subsequently after reading the book I decided to do something about it and put it out there. And the biggest surprise of all was that it has been well received and I actually get pleasure in sharing my work with others. 

So this website and blog is a starting point to share my work and the creative work of other creative people.  A lot of the portraits I have taken are of friends of mine who are artists and I admire their courage in putting their work in public spaces.  And a big thanks to Austin and his book.
